After capturing NGC 3576 on Wednesday night , NGC 6188 was just passing the meridian on the same side up high at 70 degrees so captured a few hours on this target for the first time as well
I wasn’t particularly aiming for the fighting dragons , so left the orientation of the frame as it was
Really enjoyed imaging and processing this Nebula as it has so much varied detail ( apart from the Dragons ) quite an amazing nebula

85% Waxing moon
8” f5 GSO newt
EQ6-R pro mount
ZWOASI2600MC set in Ascom at Gain 100 Lowest Read Noise cooled to -10C
Optolong L Extreme filter
45 x 3 minute dithered guided subs
Tracking and Goto EQMOD and Ascom Stellarium
PHD2 Multistar guiding ( 0.65 arc sec error total )
Framed focused and captured with APT
Subs reviewed in Astap
Stacked in DSS
Processed in Startools V1.7 Compose Linear OSC
SHO matrix versions
Synthetic Luminance version

Comments welcome
Thanks

Quantity and quality so well done Martin.
It is wonderful seeing you being able to use the new observatory, the grand kids cubby I mean;)
You must have quiet an extensive gallery by now.

Thanks Alex
I’d like to image this region again with my L Extreme during the dark as moon glare does play havoc with your colours using a OSC
The NexDome Obs has so many benefits ( not sure about a cubby house for the grandkids, although they would love to use it as one ) You really take it for granted after using it for several months. Also having the second laptop inside the house and controlling everything using Windows 10 Pro Remote Desktop is fantastic. My automatic dome rotation control system I designed works well but has its deficiencies especially when objects are above 70 degrees in Alt ( I have to check the position of the opening and rotate it every 20 minutes or so until the objects descends below 70 degrees , then I can switch the auto system back on.
As far as my gallery of objects I think I’ve only imaged about 20 or 25 with the 2600MC which I’ve had since August 2020. So many more objects to image and if I ever go Mono in 2022 , I’ve got to start all over again
It’s an endless hobby ..... time, clear nights and money the governing factors
Thanks again
Best
Martin

You are certainly keeping busy M.

I look up at the moon and go back to bed.

Good effort as per usual

Peter,
Thanks
The moon shouldn’t stop you from imaging on a clear night ?
I thought you have a set of NB filters for your mono camera ?
My L Extreme Duoband OSC filter at 7nm works brilliantly under near full moon as you can see. Trying to separate the bandwidths in colour is hard but the detail you get on any nebula is brilliant
A set of good Ha , Oiii and Sii NB filters will work 4 times better on your mono camera than my OSC camera using the L Extreme
Astronomik 6nm filters are said to be best bang for buck
Give them a try !!!
Clear nights are few and far between
Cheers

Great to see you're getting out Martin ! Clouds for weeks and weeks down here. Getting some great data with the ASI2600MC pro and L-Extreme !
Moon or no moon that filter makes it happen

Paul,
Thanks
I’m getting the “Mono itch” too but it can wait until next year , the financial controller has put a hold on Astro spending for the moment
Yeh the L Extreme is tremendous
I had the ZWO Duoband for a while but it’s no match for the L Extreme under all conditions.
Being retired and having a Nexdome Obs only 8m from my back door is fantastic. It use to take me hours to set up , cover up and uncover with tarps , roll up power leads etc.. Now I just open up hop through the door , switch on and slew to my target and can be imaging in a short while after focusing and framing
The wind doesn’t bother me either , the week before last it was blowing around 20 km/hr with occasional 30 km/hr gusts and my mount and scope were unaffected
Every clear night I’ll be out unless other priorities pop up
Cheers

Looks good Martin - I like the detail.

I've got my own version I've been working on (HaRGB) & hope to put it up soon so will be interesting to compare.

Thanks Marc
Getting my head around this OSC narrowband stuff
You definitely need plenty of data

Pete
Thanks too
Looking forward to seeing your version
Ive just captured 4 hours on M8 last night so hope to get some good Bi colour narrowband versions using Startools
Cheers
