NGC 5189 (Gum 47, IC 4274, nicknamed Spiral Planetary Nebula) is a planetary nebula in the constellation Musca. It was discovered by James Dunlop on 1 July 1826.

Imaged in narrow band using Svbony 7nm narrow band Ha, OIII and SII filters using a Skywatcher 300PDS 12" F5 Newtonian, ZWO ASI 183mm Pro, 911 x 30 seconds.

I Images this a few years ago with DSLR and a 10" which wasn't bad, but this is an improvement.

Interesting target. You've caught lots of detail - it is only 1.5' x 1'!
Top shot, Kevin.:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thanks Mark. It's actually one of the larger ones. Most on my star charts are merely arc seconds across.

Thanks Peter. I've imaged it before with a DSLR and 10" F4, but this one is definitely an improvement.
