Test shot

Hi everyone

Tonight showed promise despite some setbacks.

I had been wondering on a camera/scope combo
for planetary/ Lunar.

I mounted my gear on an old HQ5 tripod for stability.

Coupled my 127mm Mak with the ASI290MM cooled.

Telrad for spotting.

Hand slew.

A few random pics for FOV.

Images were taken via asicap on Samsung tablet.

This single lunar shot taken with the above setup.

Settings unknown...sorry....lucky imaging while
Experimenting with settings.

Processed in Snapseed.

Asicap is a very handy tool for use with ZWO cameras
via compatible smartphone or tablet.

Allows for instant viewing and control of images.

Free too !!......though the cameras prove to be power hungry.

Snapseed is a free image editing tool for Android.

Very user friendly.

Anyhoos......I'm looking forward to further expansion
And experiments especially with video and Autostakkert.

I have been thinking of trying some lunar shots myself, so U may have inspired me.

I agree...great to have you share your journey...but please for your own sake keep some notes.
That seems nerdy but in my case I find I dont remember so much stuff when out there and being able to do a quick review the following day or later or even before your next session using your short notes can be a great help.
Are you tracking with your mount?
If so bang off a few and try your hand at stacking..free software is ???? ...someone help here please..Registax? I have not used it for ages...and get Deep Sky Stacker for Deep Sky...they are free so go for it.
I look forward to seeing more of your efforts so please keep them coming.

great words of encouragement.

Alex, I agree notes are a great reference.

At that moment it was around 1.00am, cold dark and well....

Something I did learn was the auto functions in ASICAP for gain and exposure.

Such was the reason for not knowing the settings, as I deviated from them to see the results.

Taking the shot was easy, as you can either press the center `Button` icon, or,
as I did in that shot, touched the screen to remove all program icons, which leaves
a full image on screen, and do a screen shot via a hand swipe across the screen.

I was happy enough just to get things working together.

Looking back on it, I know I can achieve much better, but at the time
it was a bit of a triumph, so......
