hello members just asking if anybody knows if the sharpstar and the ts optiks of this model are the same?
the reason is in the ts website it clearly says epl53 triplet, while the sharpstar is an apo triplet with a japanese ed element?
if the sharpstar had the fpl53 surely it would say that rather than a special ed element?................ begs the question then, is the ts website correct in stating it has fpl53 element?

TS is correct, they are made for TS and the Sharpstar version is made for sharpstar so there may be differences.

Hello Patrick,

it's the version II with 6 elements. it' s a mistake from our website, sorry. the glasses used are chinese glasses equivalent to FPL-53. honestly, they are very good, exactly like the ones from Ohara.


a reply from TS ................. at least they are honest, but their ad was all over the shop claiming the scope advertised as a 6 element with fpl53 triplet but the schematics showing a 5 element with a triplet corrector, so a doublet? should not be hard to do a quick proof read?
it sounds like the TS and sharpstar are the same as the sharpstar simply claims an ED element in the objective
