RCW 58, a large but faint ring nebula in Carina. Especially faint is the OIII shell. RCW 58 originates from a Wofl-Rayet star. WR stars are huge, perhaps 20 solar masses. I have not imaged this before. Needs more data as always, but is too low for me now.

Skywatcher 300PDS 12" F5 Newtonian, ZWO ASI 183mm Pro, Svbony Ha and OIII 7nm narrow band filters, Modified NEQ6 Pro with 2146 x 30 sec subs, mostly unguided. Stretched hard cos it's really faint. :P

Thanks Bob. Can't have too many subs lol. She's a bit low for me now. If it wasn't for clouds I would have had more OIII data.

Good one Kev. I imaged this one a few years ago and again with more exposure recently.

Yes the O111 is extremely dim. I had an hour and could only detect a faint ring with super heavy stretching so that would be a great many hours to bring it out.

I see you did nearly 18 hours on it. Terrific effort and you are showing some of the O111. I think there is a bubble in O111 in there to be had.

Greg.

Enjoyed this one Kevin, excellent result, well worth the effort

One thing, how does having so many mega pixel subs affect your processing time and flow?

Impressive image, Kevin!
It would great to see this with a lot more OIII data - will this stretch your extraordinary patience?:D

Thanks Greg. Yeah the OIII is only just barely there. It's gonna need many hours.

Thanks Mike. It takes a while to stack, but I just leave the PC run overnight, it's done in a few hours and processing is the same after that.

Thanks Mark! Haha, yeah I'm outs time for this year. it's too low for me now in the tropics. If I get enthusiastic I'll add more data next year.

Nice one Kevin, some good detail in the Ha ring. Looking forward to seeing it next year with some more OIII 👍

Thanks Mathew. This year has been the worst with cloud for years. I'll try and get more OIII next time.
