Here is a wider field image of this well imaged nebula.

Taken a little while ago.

AP Riccardi Honders 305mm F3.8 and QHY600m photographic version.

Cool wide field Greg, nice to see some of the surrounding wisps of nebulosity you've picked up.

Perhaps the highlights in the stars are little blown out? It's such a star-rich area - no wonder we see quite a few starless renditions of this object.

Thanks Pete. Didn't really notice stars blown out but did have trouble with a few other images. This one has quite of a bit RGB data.

Even so I think I will shoot the stars in extended full well mode or broadband mode instead of narrowband mode.and see if that works better.

Thanks Russell. I plan on adding more RGB to it. I decided with these narrowband images that I mainly want an LRGB base that is substantial and the narrowband data accentuates it only.



Cheers Martin. Its a classic. A little hard to do a really good image of it though. I have another image of this in narrowband and it turned out OK but not really good enough.

Very nice Greg. Great framing and some good detail. Did you just do the Ha in bin 1?

Thanks Russ. Yes I only did Ha in 1x1 and 2x2 for the others like RGB and O111, S11.

To speed it all up I do 1x1 for the detail filters like Luminance and Ha and then 2x2 for the rest. I started doing 1x1 for RGB to see if they register more accurately. I have a bunch of images with that ready for processing so don't know the answer yet.

But these smaller pixelled cameras seem to also put pressure on registration with little errors rising up at times. This yet another little obstacle to overcome and be aware of with CMOS imaging with small pixels.

Later CMOS sensors are really more than likely to get even smaller pixels. So its something we'll have to increasingly deal with in our workflow.
