Just a selection of the images I captured last New Moon, our astronomy professor rudely made our assignment due the night of the eclipse, and we had an exam the day after the complete New Moon, so I decided to take a "study break" and drive an hour to my favourite dark site. The Moogerah shot was taken just before dawn, the Wyaralong ones around midnight.

(NGC672 is mislabeled, it's actually just an artifact from the pano stitch, photoshop thought there should be two Triangulum galaxies)

(another mistake in this one, it's solar radiation, not solar wind that causes airglow, I will get around to fixing the annotations...)

It sounds like your professor is providing a good grounding in balancing astronomy with the demands of real life.

Beautiful images, I like the labeling…

Thanks guys :D

The labelling was Dad's idea, he wanted to know what was in the images and I've done a labelled version of every one of my astro shots since.

Very cool shootin' Liam, nicely done.
How many frames made up the pano - I find stitching them a bit tricky ?
Good show..

Sorry Liam, another mistook, it's a meteor not a "meteorite".:(

Nice images 'though.:)

Excellent imaging Liam. Energising out under the sky must be a good thing.
