I processed the 28 120s 1600iso subs from my mirrorless unmodified camera in photoshop. I found the results more to my taste than when I used dedicated astrosoftware (probably because of my reluctance to learn yet more softwares with new procedures).

Hi Kanga
To get the best results you have to use software dedicated to astro.
Personally, I use Pixinsight however Startools seems easier to use.
And there a many others...
Photoshop has its uses in the final stages.
Head down into the tutorials :)

Hi Peter,
You are right - I should use dedicated astrophotography software but I find them best for my mono camera with narrowband filters. For my raw files out of my unmodified mirrorless camera photoshop seems to work best for me. Do you have any suggestions for suitable software for this particular use? Star tools might be a goer. I tried astropixel processor for these files (when converted to dng's) but was not pleased with what I could achieve.

Hi Peter,
Is this better? I stacked the subs in DSS and finished the image in photoshop.
Cheers Kanga
