The pillars rally do jump out of the image Nik. Nice one.

Thanks Everyone. I've always wanted to try the hubble pallet but for some reason I'm not a fan of the green that seems to emanate from false colour.

That's a great Eagle image Nik. Your 130 is proving to be a superb instrument.

Greg.

Thanks Greg,

I finally worked out the backfocus proper with the flattener and it has been such a blessing.

Very nice, I been meaning to have a crack at it myself for a couple of years, but I am not sure if I should use the SVX80 for the overall area or the 10"F4 for a shot a bit tighter on the pillars of creation.

thanks Peter

Do one of each, I find that even with the 130 it's still a little too wide, I want a slightly longer focal length and catch the centre myself.

I could do that too, once the mono cam arrives and I do some cable sorting I will have two setups that can run at once.

Bold punchy colour palette and classic framing work well.

There's something unusual with the appearance when looking at the high res.
The pillars are very dark & appear over-sharpened and there's some odd mis-shapened stars across the field, which also shows a combination of both noisy and smooth/blurry patches.

Maybe something in the workflow/processing could be revisited? .

Thanks Andy
I'm still working on the star maps and I think that may have caused issues.

I did do a selective sharpening on the pillars so that's probably why
Thanks for the feedback :)

That looks good Nik - some great detail there.
do you find much difference between the LEnhance & LExtreme?

I find the L-Extreme works better with longer focal lengths, L-Extreme seems to work well with shorter focal lengths and faster optics.
