The full test with 90minutes of 3 and 5 minute subs on a 183c 1000mm at f5.
I accidentally drizzled to 3x. Big file.
Not too much coma there. Maybe I can use one filter per night and get NB. No room for a filter wheel with the CC.

Stars look great , perfectly round with longish subs

Your image train and resultant FOV is bit more forgiving than on my 8” f5 newt
Your FOV with the 183MC is 45 x 30 arc mins
Mine with my 2600MC is 81 x 54 arc mins so I’ve have a bit more field to correct especially in the corners ( and even wider on my 6” f6 newt )
It took me many nights to get the spacing just right as you know. Factors like tracking , guiding , seeing , objects altitude , wind , humidity, dew , Collimation, tilt etc.... all can affect your Star shape which doesn’t help trying to set your coma corrector.

Thanks Martin. Still a very slight tilt as I forgot to hang the camera down.
I understand. Sounds like a lot of work..
I have considered a larger sensor with larger pixels.
I had enough trouble with the 183 which really has too smaller pixels for the newt and is better on the refractor. Looks better with the UV filter and CC for smallish objects for sure than when I first started to use on the newt.

I really like it, I would reduce the black point for a darker background and contract adjustment to bring out the core a bit more and the outer galaxy structure.
I tested it a bit that how I feel, but I noticed there are a lot of opinions on the forum that make it hard to be right about anything anymore.

Thanks Malcom. It would be good to get those little galaxies in the background clear. Yes it is very hard to judge how much to go with the black point until you see the finished product on a particular screen resolution. I suppose I favour the more natural reddish background but it sure looks different as a 1g tif file on a big HPZ monitor.
