WiFi Link with Celestron Astro F1 6"

The SkyPortal WiFi link constantly drops out, which is a real pain. In addition, the scope will not slew to horizontal or near horizontal. (There is no physical barrier.)
I note that Handheld cable connected controllers seem to be sold out everywhere. I do have a small Windows laptop that I could use.
Suggestions appreciated.

Perhaps it is altitude limited in the software. Hunt through the menus of whatever mount you have to see.
