I refuse to be drawn into discussion of any matter that does not have reasonable evidence readily available in reality such that the taking of a position is in anyway warranted or required and knowing that the expression of the determined position will from that point of determination be used by others as a label or qualification with which will carry predetermined baggage upon which I will have no agreed input upon such that opinions views and attitudes will be attached simply because once labled assumptions are used that are constructed from generalisations rather than any personal analysis of my particular view.:eyepop::):):hi:
As it is clear that the majority of gods, if not all gods, are of human invention and all, invented or not, are presented with no evidence, certainly without evidence as would be required in either a civil or criminal court in this country, indeed most countries, one must wonder why there exists two words that seek to establish there be any need to classify folk into a belief or non belief of entities that remain unestablished using evidence that would be required by at least any court in this land so forgive me if I refuse to be qualified by words presumably invented by those who would seek to assert their unestablished entity requires a recognition such that one must choose a position:rolleyes:..I chose neither position and will hold such a position until at least one of the presented entities are established via evidence such that a court would employ to establish guilt or inoccence or accept a presented fact as likely or unlikely.:P The current position is the theist says "there is" no evidence " do you believe or not so I can call you theist or athiest".:P

Sorry to take so long to comment Pete but I have been hunting water bears and actually found one but got involved trying to extricate him or her or it from vegetable matter and slime for hours and in jiggling things I would lose it, the animal not my patience, and spend time trying to find it again. I could not free it to get a good shot but did get a photo to produce to those who say I am lieing and did not find one at all anyways I am a believer in not offending folk if at all possible and frankly I could entertain that some folk may be offended by Dave Allen's treatment of the Church and probably greatly offended given the closer to the truth his sort of humour hits the more likely it is found upsetting...I recall a judge in a libel matter saying " the woman would not be upset being told she had a red nose unless indeed she had a red nose"..And given Dave Allen just keeps / kept the material coming and coming and that it is more or less the truth I could see how it could get under someone's skin...and being fair and above all kind I think maybe his humour could be banned but then on the other hand we could say to do so is against free speech and that to ban his humour, as far as it relates to the church would be wrong and so we face a dilemma. All I can think is that those who are offended avoid watching his stuff but of course the opposite is more likely and those offended will call for a ban ..it is funny how that works really.
As to the folk who follow Allah I find the evidence they offer as reason to believe most compelling, and although their evidence may not be tendered in court I would be inclided to take notice because as they say the pen is mightier than the sword or is it really the other way around. But history teaches us to always be very wary of anyone who claims to have his God on his side.
The problem all human seem to have is maintaining a belief that whatever they believe is reality and that is so odd really but is indeed the reality. That's why we must value science and the scientific method as it gives humanity a small chance to identify reality and ignore superstition and one could hope that may make us better as a species.

It always comes down to personal opinion..and here I feel like my opinion is somewhat hypocritical..my opinion is the joke Col posted is wrong because it seeks to denegrate athiests by suggesting they go out of their way to push their views, which to me seems the exact opposite of reality particularly when you find many theists more than happy to preach, even when unsolicited, than athiests, in my personal limited experience...yet here I am perfectly happy to watch Dave Allen and find no problem. That is hypocritical isnt it?
Its time to take some time out and examine if I am being fair and kind in an equal manner and if I should strive to be more understanding of anothers position. Well I have thought it through and I still wonder why the producer of Cols joke felt driven to spend time to work on such an enterprise when clearly it hints at a rather nasty attitude to those who dont hold similar beliefs.
I suppose all one can do is to try not to be guilty of a similar approach and so I will avoid in the future watching videos denegrating theists.
