Today was a windy cloudy day here in Brisbane. I noticed a few hot spots around the AR and thought they might develop into something, I was really fighting the wind and clouds and didn't expect to get a decent animation. The quality is poor but the content is interesting.

The outcome was worth the perseverance , captures a flare in progress, good catch. AR2824 has been letting go of quite a few in the past 36 hrs, the most activity for several years.
Possible auroral activity for down south on Wed. evening due to CMEs' ejected from the active area, to co-incide with the lunar eclipse as well.

A very interesting video Martin. Over what period of time was your sequence taken. Well done.

Eris, I took 100 images over 75 mins but I had to discard 44 of them due to clouds rolling over.

Here is an update on my initial post. I reprocessed my animation to get a better alignment. I cropped the original frames, applied some sharpening and removed 4 bad frames. I then aligned them and added some colour and used GIMP to make an animated Gif file.
Thank you all for your encouragement.

Wow that has come up very nice indeed Martin. Adding color also very effective. Did you use IMPPG to align your images?

I sure did Peter, the developer of IMPPG is a member on Solar Chat and he gave me a few tips to improve my alignments.

This a wonderful improvement Martin. The result is spectacular, especially on enlargement. Very well done.
