It has been a very long time since I posted anything.
I managed to get to a dark sky site on Saturday with the camera and lenses. This is a shot of the Sagittarius region using a 50mm prime lens at F2.8. This is a stack of 20 x 1 minute frames stacked and processed in Photoshop.

Hi John, Noice area for a 50mm thats for sure & your image shows real good detail and colour, great job.
Wondering what camera you used, & particularly brand of lens & its maximum F-Stop wide open, because them stars a good right out into the corners & with no colour abberations that I can see, although there a smidge of trailing there but that aside, them stars a great all over ?
Nice shootin and a fantastic scene in-deed !

Nice widefield John, wouldn't exactly categorise it as a Nightscape but it is very pleasing to the eye and I can see you just managed to get the Cat's Paw in the frame too.

I used a Canon 7d and a Sigma 50mm F1.4 lens. It was stopped down to F2.8. I have used it in the same region at F1.4 before with no issues as its a fairly forgiving area of the sky. On bright stars at F1.4 you will see some purple halos.
