The recent clear nights have broken a long imaging drought for me, its been a busy few months with precious little time for imaging unfortunately.

These nights haven't been without their challenges of course :)

Here's about four hours on NGC3372 Carina Nebula. I had to discard a lot of subs due to guiding issues, in reality probably have more like 6-7 hours.

Hi Craig.

Your result is quite good.

Don't forget to practise your processing skills.

Plenty of good stuff out there, youtube etc.

Well done

Cheers all. Adding some time in Ha tonight (well, Ha and Oiii with a dual band filter, but will try taking the Ha as a luminance layer for this.)

Got my OAG working finally too

how do you add the duo-band as a luminance layer? Very interested to hear that.

It's a fine image, regardless. Lovely star colour

Adam,
Here ya go ....attached
Ivo Jager the developer of Startools gave me a procedure on the Startools forum for processing Duoband data ( synthetic luminance with narrowband) from a OSC camera
It works ok but no where near as good as true narrowband from a mono camera with all the filters
For processing Nebula with Duoband data , the Super Structure module works really well
Cheers

very nice, but can I have whatever you smoking so I get such colors with my 533mc too? :) Like it a lot but for now I am trying to keep my results as "real" as possible - art will come later I hope.

Thanks. I've yet to actually attempt it, but APP has the functionality.

Not sure what colours you deem "real" for this nebula, but I didn't really touch them much. The final stack came out with a strong green cast (which is not real), introduced either by light pollution or the filter, I am not sure. I corrected the green cast using the star colour calibration tool in APP and got these colours. It's a colour camera using a broadband filter, so aside from removing the green cast I really didn't need to do much to the colour.

Interesting, maybe because I used light pollution filter and wasn't using APP this time, just plain stacking and stretching in Affinity my colors came quite different. Maybe I should give it a quick try in APP what colors I'll get from there.

You ripper, thanks Martin! I love your PDF guides :)

Will give that a go shortly, cheers
