The strange Messier 64, black eye galaxy.
"The Black Eye Galaxy (also called Sleeping Beauty Galaxy or Evil Eye Galaxy and designated Messier 64, M64, or NGC 4826) is a relatively isolated spiral galaxy 17 million light-years away in the mildly northern constellation of Coma Berenices.
Taken over two nights with a Skywatcher 300PDS 12" F5 Newtonian, ZWO ASI 183mm Pro, Svbony LRGB filter set, modified NEQ6 Pro.

Very cool and unique galaxy that Kevin...most galaxies have several other look a likes...but I don't think there is another galaxy that looks anything like this one :question:

It certainly is a different galaxy. There's so many others in that region too, so little time to get them before galaxy season is over...

Thanks Marc and Robert. It's quite a spectacle in big observatory photos. The eye is most unusual.

Thanks Wilco. Don't come down with aperture fever lol. Whenever I get it, my mount isn't big enough lol.

Easily solved: just get a bigger mount.
Nice smooth image Kevin. When I first looked at it I thought you had overdone the denoising, but after looking around the web I see that it really does have that smooth, somewhat artificial look.

Thanks Geoff. Yes, one would expect to see a few knots in the spiral arms, but it's weirdly smooth. With a rough center. Crazy galaxy.
