The Great Centaurus Edgewise Spiral aka NGC 4945

this is a stack of 4 x 3 minute images @ ISO 1600, imaged last Thursday (some moon about) with my Canon 300D via my C8 NG.

auto guided through my 60 mm guidescope with my Atik 1 C using Guidedog

This is one nice object, my image hardly does justice!

Nice one Narayan.. btw how's your collimation? The diffractions spikes on the bright stars seem to indicate it's a little bit off..

What scope are you bringing up this weekend (if any)?

I know I cant figure it out-the airy rings are perfect when star tested

Unfortunately our family car is still at the smash repair, so its got be only my little ETX once again I'm afraid..no room for family, plus 8 inch scope

Remember how I got rear ended on the way back from SPSP?
Well we got the car back after 6 weeks, and the first working day after it came back, my wife got run into by a lady who went through a stop sign..back to the smash repair, for another four weeks they say:mad2: :mad2: :mad2: :confuse2: :confuse2:

ah shucks that's bad.. I hope your wife is ok.

Just remember that you'll need to bring some power for your scope, 240v power won't be as accessible as we originally thought, now that we have changed fields.

Hi,

Do you have a newtonian ? If so you can still get perfectly circular fresnel rings with the focuser/secondary outta whack. NB Not the secondary tilt. This misalignment shows up with the secondary shadow, not the fresnel rings.
