Super moon, is happening tonight. Moon at Perigee at 01:24 am, Wednesday morning. Best Super moon effect is seen when the Moon is near the horizon.

Looked good coming up in the smoke haze. Like daylight outside last night.

Just hope this high level cloud cover goes away
Finally got clear skies here, the offending clouds are now out to sea and generating lightning
T'was good to see, didn't quite go full eclipse - still worth it :)

Well, that was quite pleasant just watching the celestial mechanics of a lunar eclipse (rugged up nice and warm, of course).

There will not be another combination of events like this, Perigee Super Moon, and a total lunar eclipse, at the same time, until 2032 I believe. I reckon this is the last one I will have a chance to see, given my advanced years
I particularly enjoyed the way the stars all popped into view as the Moon faded away, not something you ever see normally during a full Moon.

I Enjoyed that. Few random clouds though

My contribution, lucky to get some images as it was very cold and windy, clouds racing across the sky and needless to say a very disturbed atmosphere up here in Blackheath. Used my Tak FSQ-106 but realistically was overkill owing to the weather conditions. Also a pic of my set up, the camera is a Canon 60D.

Nice shots!
Just packed up a minute ago. It clouded up around 18:30 then cleared around 19:30. All night was clear. Great conditions for it. Little windy by the end but nothing dramatic. I got about 700x20s.

Like many others, really enjoyed last nights lunar eclipse, several fellow club members and I set up at Hill 60 at Port Kembla. Found a spot protected from the wind with clear views except for the inevitable lighting but dark skies weren't really a priority anyway.
Spent a pleasant few hours with good company watching the moon turn blood red.

Unspoiled by clouds and very nice and enjoyable, but a bit dark (not as red as the last eclipse).
What surprised me was the total lack of interest. I was basically alone at the beach apart from passers-by who noticed it and stopped for a minute to take a pic with their phone...
Nice going guys, like em.

That’s my favorite Steve…part illuminated gave an amazing 3D effect through my bins.
Is this a HDR stack during partial eclipse?

Thanks mate, it’s a single 1.6sec image taken on my d5300 + 8in newt.
Give it a little fiddle on the computer just to dull down the highlight on the edge.

Looks like everyone enjoyed the eclipse. Hard to resist taking a few images. They look good. Surprising how much interest and detail is in the full moon with a some filtering of the light.
