SpaceX SN15 Static Fire - flight tomorrow

SpaceX conducted a successful three engine static fire this morning (AEST), clearing the way for another test flight on Wednesday the 28th (Boca Chica Central Time). SN15 has substantial design changes from the last prototype flown (SN12). Hopefully they can land this one and move the devrlopment program forward.

Updated test time, TFR now on Wednesday the the 28th, Boca Chica Central Time zone, notionally from 7am Central.
So that will be approximately 10pm plus on the 28th in eastern Australia.

After a long pause, it looks like SpaceX is finally ready to fly SN15. The FAA has granted approval. Road closure, Temporary flight restrictions (TFR) and NOTAM are in effect. The Flight Termination System has been installed. Launch planned for Friday the 30th, between 8am and 5pm Boca Chica CDT. That window opens in about 7,5 hours from my time of posting this info.

I have a lot of confidence in this flight , I hope they nail it so they can move forward even faster with design development and test flight program , maybe an orbital flight within a few months or so

Road closure has not happened at start of closure period, and weather looks marginal. Residents evacuations have not started. It maybe scrubbed for the 30th, they still have clearances for a 1 May flight but in the past they have avoided weekend launches because it disrupts locals access to the beach.

At last SpaceX has had a successful flight and landing of its Star Ship prototype. SN15 flew this morning, our time, through cloud cover to 10kms, and returned to land perfectly on the landing pad. The landing legs deployed as planned and the ship is level on the pad. Three engines were re-lit for landing but one was turned off when descent rate was controlled, it landed with two engines active. There was a small Methane vent fire near the base but the water suppression system at the pad put it out, certainly did not endanger the ship. Venting of tanks completed, and the vehicle is now safe.
Plenty of live streams are now up on Utube, including SpaceX's own stream of vision and commentary. Great vision from the engine bay, and a Go pro mounted outside on the forward fin root looking back.
A great step forward.

Even though it is now dark at Boca Chica, they already have crews inspecting SN15 and a crawler is on the way to the pad, I suppose to move the ship. They will need to get a crane attached, but could be moved tonight. Lots of lights have been setup around the ship. Itbis still being covered via Utube live stream, via NASA Spaceflight and LabPadre's channels.
