Suns an hand controllers

Quick question about synscan hand controllers....
I have an eq5 pro and a eq6.
The eq6 has a much older handset than my eq5.
Can I plug the eq5 handset into the eq6. I’d have to use the eq6 cable as it has the d connector on the mount.

I have and use both the HEQ5 and the NEQ6PRO.
My Synscan controllers are both at V3.27....why?
I don’t honestly see the need to upgrade them!
There should be no issue “mix and match”
