LS5 8" classic ota and mount (FOR PARTS)

I have a very old Meade LS5 8" classic ota with fork mount for parts.

The mount doesn't turn on (I am quite sure it just needs capacitors to be replaced :computer:) and the OTA doesn't come with the diagonal.

Both the mirrors are in excellent condition :thumbsup: (corrector plate needs a bit of a clean though). Comes with the hand controller (have you seen something like this before :lol:). Has both the motors - RA and DEC.

The tube has some scuffs and scratches on the outer, but ofcourse that doesn't impact the optics.

You could use it as a project or use its parts, up to you! Or put it up on the wall!

That's an LX6 Meade handcontroller.
There was an add-on DSC (Digital Setting Circles) which interfaced with the LX6 hand controller and displayed RA/Dec in the window.
The mount is basically an LX5 - pre LX200.
The DSC encoders are not there....they would be plugged into the "Encoder" socket.


I used to have the Lx5 version, upgraded with the DSC in the early 2000's.
