NGC 3347 is an elongated spiral galaxy, while NGC 3358 is a face-on lenticular galaxy There is a barely visible faint tidal stream between NGC 3347 and the smaller round spiral NGC 3354. Both NGC 3347 and NGC 3354 have similar red-shifts, suggesting that this is a genuine association and not merely a line-of-sight coincidence.

Very well rendered - I like the colour and the detail is great. I guess you are binning x 2?

Very nice result Geoff and yes, picking up that galactic bridge is a bonus and an intriguing feature

Joe mentioned Wiruna had some good conditions this New Moon..?

Thanks Mark. Yes, this is binned 2 x 2, both L and colour. I haven't really settled on the optimum way to do things: no bin, no bin L but bin colour. There doesn't really seem much difference.

Thanks Peter

Thanks Mike. The bridge really needs a deeper exposure. Have a look here http://www.azstarman.net/CDK/NGC3347.htm
Wiruna had good transparency between a few annoying cloud covers, which usually passed over well within an hour. Seeing was OK but not spectacular--low 2's

A very nice galaxy pair there. I like the soft stars look as well as the galaxies themselves make a great object to image.

Thanks Greg. I always go for soft stars. Nothing looks worse than hard edges on stars.
