This is my attempt at Thor's Helmet.
A few RGB stars added to a Ha & Oiii base.
6.7 Hours of Ha and 27 Hours of Oiii.
I was surprised at the extent of the nebulosity.

Colors are a little odd and there are usually a lot more stars in that field. How did you process the channels?

Yes, there are a lot more stars but I reduced the number to focus on the nebula.
Lots of playing with sliders on the colors, so no specific formula. I was trying to come up with something different.

To what end? I don't understand. Is it a Ha/Oiii bicolor picture or did you shoot Sii as well?

No Sii, but mapped say:
80%Oiii + 20%Ha to Red
70%Ha + 30%Oiii to Green
90%Oiii + 10%Ha to Blue

Mixing channels for different palettes in narrowband images is all part of the fun Paul :) Maybe a tiny bit of wavelet sharpening to enhance the details in the nebula would provide a small improvement but like the colours, this is in the eye of the beholder. A worthy helmet and cool image.

ah ok... seems a bit arbitrary. It would be hard to see where the Ha and Oiii are in the final picture.
