While I have been imaging some long integration targets, I have also been picking up data on a few shorter integration targets such as the Toby Jug nebula.

At first glance this object would appear to be a planetary nebula but it is not the case apparently. It is a bipolar and biconical nebula which is illuminated by the central star.

Also of interest are the back ground galaxies which are close enough to see some detail in them.

The image contains 14.5 hours of integration. To get sharper detail I had to take a series of 2 minute exposures for the core.

Great shot Paul, lots of interesting objects lurking in the background and the star colours in the foreground set the framing off nicely. The Toby Jug nebula looks a bit like a golden Thors Helmet to me. Thanks for showing us this one.

The dynamic range has come out very well Paul. Great details and a nice collection of background galaxies

Nice job Paul! I understand that this is a rare red reflection nebula. (https://www.eso.org/public/news/eso1343/)
Well done

Nicely done. Interesting to see it in a wider field. This is usually imaged at longer FL. There are a lot of interesting galaxies in the fov too.

Such an interesting target, Paul. I like it, aswell as the star colours and background galaxies!

Thanks guys for the comments.

I have given it a touch more sharpening Louie. The seeing was a bit ratty on this though.

Nice image of this object Paul.

I've wanted to image it for a long time, but have never got round to it.
On my to-do list again...

cheers
