Awesome mate!
You have ticked all the boxes with this effort.
Very well done

Lots of detail. The salmony colour though is not that pleasant. Perhaps try to add some magenta back into the colour to get it back to that Halpha colour.

Like your work Martin. I work with your son Anthony and he was showing me those exact pictures on his phone. Glad to see you here :)

Great details and FOV with good star profiles in that shot Martin. Nailed the focus and guiding. Top shelf.

If you wanted to you could use astropixel processor and separate the Ha and O3 channels then combine them. the difference in colours is astounding.

Greg,
I spent some time reprocessing the image
Created a Star mask so stars wouldn’t be sampled
I chose Legacy in the Colour Module, only did minor tweaks to the Red , Green , Blue bias settings and adjusted saturation levels both colour , light and dark
Inverted Star mask and adjusted colour bias in Star field separately
Managed to expose reds , blues and a hint of green in the image now
Also adjusted contrast
Martin
Comments welcome

Colours are all opinions, but that's also much better to me, Martin. Great work

Adam,
Thanks for sharing your workflow
I’m think the image has a lot more depth now
Ryan,
Thanks for your kind comment
Adam steered me in the right path so thanks to him
Also I now process narrowband with the stars excluded and process then at the end to achieve better and more accurate star colours
Got a good system running now especially with Startools version 1.7 , the best upgrade by far. Ivo is working on V1.8 but won’t disclose any details or date it might be released. The only request I made is to include a Star mask in the HDR module to mitigate Stars bloat when using either the Soft and Hard Optimise algorithms
Cheers
Martin

Thanks Paul , Marc and Russell
Very pleased with the rework on this image as well
One point I’d like to make is you don’t have to spend a zillion dollars on a scope to produce reasonable images
My little 6” Bintel GSO newt only cost me $299 about 4 years ago. The primary mirror is a bit banged around but it does the job
Thanks again

great stuff Martin, the L extreme filter is a marvel... so good I stopped even paying attention to the presence of phase of the moon. You can pull quite a bit of (other than red) colour from many subjects as here and as per Nik's approach and others. For now I'm giving OSC a break while i experiment with mono and narrowband...whether it's worth the much greater complexity over OSC plus L extreme the jury is still out for me. Thanks for sharing and looking forward to seeing more from you and thiks great combo.

Thanks Robert
Very happy with how this image turned out
Yes I agree the OSC multiband filters have limitations and mono is the ultimate way to go but , I’m really enjoying this set up especially when the moons up in Sydney’s Bortle 8 light polluted skies
It’s a quantum leap from my old DSLR
Cheers
