Eyes/Bino viewers

When I've been out using the 'scope for a bit I notice that the eye I'm not using can no longer focus properly, in fact after a while it sees double (if I close my eyepiece eye). This persists for 10 mins or so after I pack in observing. I assume this is to do with having such different focus in the two eyes (one closed, one in the eyepiece). I don't wear glasses, is this a normal time for the non-used eye to take to recover?

Using a binoviewer must help this, but as there is a limited amount of light
coming down the 'scope a binoviewer must halve the light being received by a single eye? Is that made up for by being able to use both eyes?

Is a binoviewer practical on a 10" GSO Dob with a Crayford focuser anyway?

While others with more knowledge and experience will no doubt chime in...

I do have a Denkmeir "Big Easy" binoviewer and have used it in a 80mm refractor and also an 8 inch Bintel (GSO) Dob...it works well in both but must use the OCS, Optical Correction System, that was included in the set to allow focusing.

I have not had a chance to try them under "dark skies" and have not tried to hunt down "faint fuzzies" with them...

I have only used in on "bright" objects and I find them to be glorious.

I have found that I tend to look for longer periods of time and feel more relaxed looking through 2 eyes instead of just one. Consequently I tend to spend longer on objects bino than in mono mode and at least feel I am "seeing" more detail.

Balance of the Dob is a bit more of a challange with the binoviewer on but that is easily corrected.
