As everybody on the East of Australia probably knows , the skies have not been in our favour for astronomy for a while. Today I tried to image AR2808 through the gaps in the clouds and high level haze. I captured around 20 gigs of .ser captures and managed two images that were worth posting .H-alpha was imaged with my Lunt DS50/60 H-alpha telescope and ASI290mm camera , White Light was imaged with my Skymax 180 Maksutov telescope and ASI120mm camera

Nice images there Martin. I just woke to unexpected blue skies and there is a bright ball of light hanging there! Hmmm should I...

Too right, these skies have been awful for a while, with probably several more weeks to go.
Glad you found a gap to get these shot, they're great :)

Nice captures Martin. Had a chance to look this morning, quite a few proms visible today. Thanks for sharing.
It's great to see some fresh solar images Martin. Well done. Let's hope the weather and activity on the Sun picks up soon.
