From my astro session last night the GEM cluster NGC3293. I wanted something different to the usual stuff that I could capture in one night and found this little GEM in the sky, right next door to the Et Carina nebula.

Really beautiful shot, Kevin. I like the colours all round, and the darker areas seem perfect to me.

Nice to see a natural colour image, with so many stuck in light polluted cities that can only use narrowband.
I think you will spark a few more to have a go at this one, given it’s so close to eta and mistral it gets somewhat overlooked.

Thanks all.
It was a quick and easy object. I needed something I could shoot in one night as we rarely get more than one night at a time cloud free here in the tropics in summer. Galaxies and faint nebula take too long so clusters are good targets.

Very pleasing result Kevin. It is a lovely area to image with lots going on.

A beautiful, restful, soothing image. The nebulosity is particularly well done.

Thanks Rodney and M&T. Yes that's a very busy area of sky. I'll have to revisit the other targets in the area sometime.

Very unusual to see this one singled out!
Beautifully caught, with interesting details in the nebulosity. Thanks for showing this target in such a new light:D
Great image!

Thanks very much Mark! Yes I often see it with the Gabriella Mistral at the side, but not often on it's own.
