Hi all, heres an image of Open Cluster NGC2437 (M46) mag 6.1 and it's little mate Planetary Nebula NGC2438 mag 10.0 from the 4th.
Image was taken through the LX200R 12" wih a DSI II Pro with a f/3.3 FR in Alt/Az mode using Meade Envisage.
60 images in Lum @ 15 seconds each.
20 images each in RGB @ 15 seconds each.
Processed with MaximDL.
I had imaged in Lum only back in January so I was happy to capture the colour this time.

Very nice Ric - the image scale is very large; this is the biggest I have seen the PN.

Hi Ric,
Well done, good to see some postings from larger Scopes of the smaller more difficult objects, planertay nebula are difficult to image generally but often have unusual shapes and illumination/colours which makes the interesting, look forward to seeing more of the same.
cheers....Jim
It may be my CRT monitor settings on the main computer but the PN seems very faint and half is missing. When I processed and sent it through the laptop with a LCD monitor it was much brighter and the full ring was visible.
Is it visible as a full ring to everyone else?
Cheers
