NASA lands Perseverance Rover on Mars

Just watched the live feed from JPL on the successful landing of Perseverance on Mars
Space technology at it’s best and another feather in the cap for NASA and JPL
Hopefully some images will be available today of the Martian surface and terrain

I only saw the video of the decent from orbit to ground yesterday with air crane , parachutes , landing dust etc etc...
Absolutely incredible resolution and quality , it’s as if your riding on the lander
Footsteps on Mars ? maybe, hopefully within a decade or so

That video is going to be a Primer for all the other nations seeking to get involved on Mars. It is going to be like Antartica, flags planted all over the place. The real time video (not the slowed down one) can be easily used to program competitors descent and landing sequencing, as long as they can emulate the hardware that NASA used.
I imaging Elon Musk has people pouring over it as well; I am still not convinced his Starship design is ideal for Mars. If he can't land a 10km test flight on Earth, how is he going to land a heavy Starship, travelling at 13,000kms per hour, into a much thinner atmosphere, and stop it? A lot of work to do there, and less than two years to the next launch window.
