Bit of a back yard play tonight with a couple of new toys (and some old!).

Getting to grips with the Samyang 14mm f2.4 XP which is proving to be a very nice lens indeed although shows some coma wide open if you are one of those that prefer to look in the corners first.

Also just arrived today is an LED light panel for light painting and accents which is turning out to be top fun - forgive my gaudy indulgence

The image is made up of a single 10 second shot at ISO 6400 which has been overlaid with a further 5 shots at F22 of 30-60 second exposures, ISO 400 which provide the terrestrial fun. It's nice to see that at even at infinity focus, f22 still allows the car to be perfectly sharp.

Looking forward to getting to a more inspiring site away from the Brisbane light pollution :)

Nice effect Jonathan. It's always good to balance the shot with a bit of light in the foreground and reveal some detail. One thing about using these short focal length wide angle lenses, their depth of field is amazing, once you have nailed the focus at infinity, pretty much the whole frame is sharp. Don't worry about the coma in the corners, the file compression hides that nicely. ;)

Thanks guys,

And I realised that I can easily shift the hue of the individual illuminated layers to my hearts content. I wonder if it would be better to take all the components in in green so the camera gets the best colour resolution (I think), and make the changes post. Hmmm...
