Hello,
Thought I would share this as SWMBO and I were pretty stoked about it.
A few years ago we purchased the Bestways(?) Hydroforce Ventura inflatable two person canoe/kayak (Conyak as well call it) for about $240 from Aldi. Meant we had a nice portable fishing platform that didn't need a trailer or lifting down from the roof racks(I tend to do most of the lifting as SWMBO is hamstrung a little from too many health issues over the years, oh and a bit short... man I hope she doesn't read this one)
The conyak has proven to be very stable and easy to setup and pack away over the years. But it has just exceeded expectation again for our Tassie trip later this month. (We got a flight package at carry-on and 20kilo luggage limit per person topped up with an extended airbnb stay - Scamander - lower reaches bream, upper Trout and only 20minutes south of St Helens for King George whiting.)
Turns out that the little conyak packed away into a large suit case paddles and all very nicely, and weighed in at 19kilo. We now have a fishing platform we can take anywhere with us even via air travel which is just awesome in our books. Boat hire tends to be a bit restrictive price wise at most locations, I think.
If you like to travel and fish, I can thoroughly recommend one if they ever go on sale again at Aldi.
Steve
Ps. Carry capacity is 200kilo for the Venture model
