They arrived today.. i've got a big box full of beanies!
Here's a few pics, they look and feel great. Very comfortable. Will definitely get some use at SPSP and during Winter.
I'll get an order form online ASAP and will let you know final price tomorrow.
Sorry about the image compression, they were just converted straight to jpeg and resized using Windows Picture Resizer.

Hi all
The price of the beanies is AU$15 each. Postage is extra, however i'm not sure how much yet.. most likely no more than a few dollars. I'm going to the P.O today to find the best package to send them in.
Thanks

Just bring some to Ilford, Mike.
nice bling mike ;)
cheryl bought me some bling a few years back too... being a non bling wearer it took a little getting used to but now i forget its there most of teh time :)
what is it with chicks nd bling anyhow? do they all have a thing for Mr T? or maybe they want us to be bad ass rappers or gangsters? I personally dont find that look attractive but I could see that from a female perspective that pretending that thier husband is a gangster living life on the edge and running fromteh law could be more exciting than saying "my husband is a telescope weilding dork...", not that theres anything wrong with that as i am quite proud of my dorkiness as i am sure most people that are into astronomy are.
I have to admit myself that cruising around the city in a lowered sports car covered head to toe in gold bits listening to tupac or some other lame gangster rapper....
btw nice loking beanie :)

Maybe you could do a package deal with optional bling and stick on goatee & moustache. I'll take one Mike, where do we sign...:D. For postage a prepaid post bag would be easy, I think Aust Post offer deals on quantity buys.

Mike would it be too much of an imposition to request you to bring one to Wiruna (for myself?)

06-04-2007, 06:56 AM
No worries Narayan, i'll be bringing heaps to SPSP.
rofl Phil.
I've used the $5 prepaid postage satchels for the shirts, and will work for the beanies too, I was just trying to find a cheaper option (if one existed).
I had a look at the B4 tough bags but i'm not sure how much posting it would be - the line for the P.O was too long yesterday and I needed to buy easter eggs :)

Postage of the beanies will be $5 australia-wide. I'll have to find out the price for O/S shipping.
Sorry no order form this week, will get it up ASAP after SPSP.
I'll be bringing plenty to SPSP, so anyone who wants one and is going to SPSP, come and see me to avoid the postage!

If you are planning to get one at SPSP, don't bother filling in the order form - just come and see me and bring $15 cash with you.

Mike I wanted 2 beanies, it may yet possibly be 3 - so is that still $5 postage per beanie when they're being posted to the same address??
iceman
16-04-2007, 06:13 AM
It's likely I can shove 2, maybe 3 beanies in the satchel - so it would be $5 total. So just pay the postage component once.
For those that have ordered 2 or 3 beanies, please PM me your bank details and I'll refund the multiple postage components.
Gargoyle_Steve
16-04-2007, 07:40 AM
Thanks for that info Mike - $50 paid via direct deposit for 3 beanies!

I've just been to the P.O to pick up a bunch of prepaid satchels, so I'll start posting the beanies tomorrow for those that have ordered and paid.
Overseas postage will be AU$10, so if you'd like an IIS Beanie and live outside Australia, please pay AU$25 via one of the methods available and fill in the order form as usual.
Thanks
iceman
18-04-2007, 08:54 AM
About 25 satchels were posted yesterday, and another 10 or so are going out today. Thanks to those that have ordered and paid so promptly.
I've still got 30-odd beanies available so get your order in before your head gets cold! :)
Everyone, these beanies are awesome, they keep your head toasty warm and double up as a hands free kit, just tuck your mobile under the rim and go about your business...........

Good day to all IIS readers...
The official report is, this wonderfully made, warm and toasty IIS beanie DOES INDEED fit 'most' size heads including the extra large and bald 'bouf head' size!
:P
Thanks for the prompt shipping Mike...they arrived today and I'm wearing one now.
Oh, and sorry to disappoint you Eric but I got some stickers too. (I'd say nah nannie nah nah but that is rather childish isn't it?) ;) Now I just gotta get a proper 'scope to put them on.
Cheers to all.
Hi Rick, yep they are great for stopping the frost settling on the shiny spots ;) and toasty warm as well. I wear mine just about everywhere.
They are the "baggy green" of Australian amateur astronomy
Cheers
