how do you power your cooled camera in the field?

Hello!

I'm thinking to get a zwo cooled camera, I noticed from their website you need to buy the adapter in order to power the cooling fan, however that adapter is a wall socket plug-in.

I'm just wondering how do you guys power your cooled camera when you have no access to a wall socket? I do have a car battery to power the mount, can I use this cord for the camera?

Cooler Power consumption: 12V at 3A Max,

to be safe for how expensive the thing is, I would have a 12V regulator between your car battery and the camera, and run it that way,

I run a deep cycle battery to a Rigrunner-style product from Amazon, then use a Powerpole to 2.1mm cable to supply power to the camera (and other devices that need it.)

I have a Hardkorr battery box with a light(ish) LiFePO4 battery from Renogy to provide 12V. I then have cigarette lighter adaptors to my ZWO ASI 1600MM camera, HEQ5 Pro mount, and microPC, with an Anderson connector to my DewBuster heater controller. The microPC then powers my monitor via USB, and the camera powers the guide cam and filter wheel.

A 50Ah battery runs all of the above all night (~6h) and drops from 13.4V (fully charged) to 13.0V.

Yes, although I'd personally go for a MUCH longer cord, and NOT COILED. You don't want it to snag on anything or provide any extra resistance/force on your mount from the admittedly small pressure it would exert, especially whilst slewing.
