Here is a copy of part of an email from Dave Gault of the Occultation Section of ASNSW.
Geoff

At 10:36pm on Friday 13th, there is an Asteroidal
event involving the mag. 15.8 asteroid 3275
Oberndorfer and a mag. 9.5 star HIP 81169. The path
crosses central NSW in a north to south direction.
Wiruna is on the eastern 1-sigma limit, meaning there
is a slight chance of seeing the event. For more
info see.

What makes you think you need a large scope to see this event?

Steve.

Oh nothing really, just the fact that Rod berry will have his 20" nearby.....

Fair enough. I just didn't want people to think that they needed a big scope to see an event like this. 8" to 10" is more than adequate if anyone wanted to give it a go.

A 20" might be overkill ...
