View Full Version here: : SUN in Ca K 20012021
I set up this morning under a cloudless sky with intentions to observe in Ca K and Ha with the main feature being AR2797. Within the space of 10 minutes of observing the seeing went from fair to pear shaped. I did manage however to capture something before I was forced to pack it away. Unfortunately no Ha.

Good captures in spite of your viewing conditions Gerard, nothing but clouds here in Brisbane. The AR looks interesting.

Super images Gerard, got to get em when you can! Here on the Gold Coast has been over a month of mostly cloud. Thanks for posting.

Gerard,
Very impressive results, well done!!
Thanks guys for your kind comments much appreciated. I'm finding AR2797 an intriguing feature. Is it a split cell, or is there an overlying feature that cuts across it? Suggestions?

Gerard,
The light bridge crossing the spot is a magnetic “filament” which usually is seen before the spot(s) break up.
Thanks for the explanation of what's going on Ken.
