Astrophotography Meetups

Does anyone know of any small group meetups (kind of similar to the app meetup) in Melbourne or regional Victoria where astrophotographers can together meet and take pictures together overnight? I know of ASV and starparties, etc, but astromeetups between astrophotographers who may not know one another seems to be eerily quiet...

Once COVID abates there's always the two Snake Valley Astro Camps (weekends) in March and November.

As Paul has mentioned, Covid has put a dampener on all astro club/society meets. And what meets do happen will have restrictions on what can be done to keep members safe, visual and AP. Nothing to do with holding covert AP activities! :lol:

I've noticed this too. I live bayside suburbs and have thought that some of the beaches around here would make for a good location for informal get togethers. Doesn't fix the light pollution issue but it does have room for people and their mounts.

The hope is to run a March Snake Valley I believe. As things turned out I really should have gone to the March 2020 one! Here is hoping things stay settled and March is possible.
