Hi Rob, pardon my newbie-ness please. If I were to use this with say my Panoptic 24, would this Barlow then give me the magnification, of say a 6mm Eyepiece? with the benefits of the wide view of the Pan? And the clarity etc of that eyepiece? Or would I be better off just buying a 6mm TV eyepiece and not worrying about using a 4x Barlow?

Perhaps if I'm not truly understanding the benefits of this item, you could let me know how best to utilize it.

I am using an Orion XX12G Goto Dobsonian 305 / 1500
