Thanks one and all...I've since uploaded the (down scaled) full frame, which I prefer to the crop posted earlier. (same URL)

Looks like clear weather again tonight...humm...mosaic or not to mosaic

Very impressive Peter!

But seriously, 60 mins each for Ha & OIII??!! Your read noise must be tiny. My STXL's read noise is hideous by comparison. I think I need a new camera!

That's beautiful. And 2 hrs, quite astonishing!

Thanks gentlemen. In some ways while 2 hours does not sound like a particularly heroic effort, but with the Quad compressor the AP130 comes down to F4.5 which is not too shabby for extended objects.

I bagged another three hours last night, with some colour data for the stars.
.... conditions were remarkably good :) with guiding/seeing induced errors typically 0.18 of a pixel...hence I'm very happy with the data.
Improved results to follow ;)

More data and RGB stars added

This keeps getting better. :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:
What's your field size and image scale? Might give this a go tonight and see what part is more interesting to frame.

Fantastic. A new standard there. AP130 GTX + compressor/QHY600 is the bees knees.

Greg.

Ta Greg. The 3.6 micron pixels are a good match to the AP130 at F4.5
I think my KAF16803 would have also done a great job on the nebulosity but the star sampling would have been too coarse.

Thanks. The camera field is about 3.5 degrees wide. No exactly a small target.

Not exactly bright either !

....the faint stuff is only hinted at in individual sub exposures.
Looking at other examples on the web seems to confirm that this one needs a system with a high S/N ratio from the get-go, to come out well.

Cool - thanks. I might be able to fit a third of it.
