Got some beaute nights here in western Sydney since last Saturday.

Seeing was very good Saturday, Sunday still alright, last night transparency and seeing weren't crash hot and some high level clouds rolled in after 3:00am but it wasn't a show stopper.

I recently got a zwo duo-band filter from the classifieds so I plugged that in and shot some mono lums with the QHY9 and old Q. My LP is so bad now that color is out of the question and even NB or straight LUM is starting to be challenging due to horrid gradients in wide fields with the distribution center 200m West of me behind the M7.

I'm officially in the red zone now. As good as it gets I believe. Flood lights galore. There's also a Bunnings somewhere in there but you can't tell because of all the other flood lights. :lol: Next is sunnies and banana boat 50+.

This one is the Horse head ~5h in 5min subs. It's a nice wide field with good details. Contrast is as good as it gets for my location unfortunately but I'm happy with that one.

Enjoy the views. :thumbsup:

The area around the Flame is superb, with rich and subtle detail.

:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

To get that result under such adverse conditions requires great skill.

Mate that’s awesome given your local LP conditions.
As you know we were up at Katoomba the last few nights and the skies were wonderful.
Glad you got some scope time in Marc.

Thanks Russ. :thumbsup: Not good no. Have to drift align now. Can't even see octans in my polar scope. The other night I realised my PA was off by nearly 1 degree. I got the wrong stars in the new reticule pattern. Thank fully it didn't affect anything I shot in Orion as it's close to the equator but when I spent the second half of the night on Carina the field rotation was so bad stars were trailing on 5min subs. I couldn't figure out why until I realised what it was. Lost one bloody night. :sadeyes:

Rather nice looking B&W horsey that Marc, quite satisfying for an imaging tragic I am sure :)

Here's color added to that one as well. Same process as the M42 shot. Duo luminance with rgb color. It results in slightly pastel colors but with the good details of NB lum.

Stunning detail & clarity Marc. :thumbsup: I'm a bit late on this but had to comment. Thanks for posting & hoping you get some clear skies soon in the stormy North.
Cheers,
Tony
