Always loved this one. Last three nights were clear, and we added 4 hrs of H-alpha to what we had from 2015. Then the Gremlins found out that we were trying to do astrophotography. The middle night we lost all data due to stupid finger trouble. Then last night the generator inlet valve failed for the second time, so we only added 2.5 hrs of OIII. Auuugggh.

But we now have 10 hrs of Ha and 9h30 of OIII. The weighting is 50/50 old and new.

For the one of us who is colourblind, the HOO mapping produces an apparently grey (monochrome) image. Consequently, for all those colourblind chaps out there in astro-land, we present the image as HHO. Purists can effortlessly produce their own HOO version with a couple keystrokes.

North is on the left. The thumb is cropped to the Good Bit. The uncropped high-res image (https://photos.smugmug.com/Category/Wolf-Rayet/i-W268Hwc/0/80b25c3b/O/Thor%27s%20Helmet%20Yellow%20%3D%20 Ha%2010%20hrs%20B%20%3D%20OIII%209h 30.jpg) shows more faint extensions. The full field is approx 36 min arc across.

Combo of cameras: Aspen GC16M and FLI PL16803 (same chip). Scope: 20 inch PlaneWave CDK. All robotics aquisition and processing as always using our own country-comfort software.

We're sick and tired of generators failing, and are looking to get a pair off Made-In-Australia 200 AH lithium idiot-proof charger-manager-inverter combos plus solar panels.

Looks very nice. Good detail in the bubble. Colour scheme looks fine, a bit different.

How many noticed the Death Star hiding at 9 o'clock?

That's a wonderful metaphor Marc. We'll have a tiny sip of Armagnac later.

Thanks Greg! We've placed an order by email with Mobile Power Solutions in Queensland. No doubt there'll be a permanent hard border the day after we pay.

Thanks Bart!

The Death Star is the perennial problem of the narrowband-only star photographer trying to do colour balancing but burning out the centre in one channel. Best thing to do with Death Stars is to avert one's gaze. Perhaps one day we'll rattle off some RGB stars. Seeing is shocking at the moment.

This hobby does have its technical challenges but we do persist. I think that if it was too easy we would all go off and find something more difficult ;) Nevertheless, I’m glad you persisted and produced another fine image

Nice Brünnhilde's hat ! ....this lass is clearly no shrinking violet ....but I fear her wardrobe's colours are a a tad melancholy.

As to whether I am qualified to comment as a colour stylist...well...maybe not, but I did take the Ishihara Test many, many moons ago and can say
with confidence I could mostly distinguish those green flight-deck warning lights from those more annoying amber and red ones.....so she does look a little muted to my eye.

Regardless it's a fine Nordic hat.

So not garish as presented, Peter. That's a relief. (And MnT are unlikely to bog a large military helicopter up to its axles in a soggy English field as happened yesterday.)

Colours notwithstanding (Spinal Tap fans would prefer the saturation cranked up to eleven!) it's a well detailed study of this Summertime favourite.
