Nice shot again Philip, looks like the seeing wasn't quite as good as your best, with no white spot storms showing up clearly.. The GRS and the raging disturbance behind it looks great.

Hi Philip, do you find it takes a fair while to acquire a lot of frames at 95% quality? I've tried doing that & found that instead of getting 70-90 frames really quickly @ 50-60% quality, 95% quality took ages to acquire. Also, what barlow are you using? I'm using the meade 2x barlow but i have to say that I'm not 100% wrapped in it.

hello robin,
i use the meade x2 barlow but place it behind thestar diagonal to get x3.as far as number of frames at 95% go, if the seeing and focus are good i can get 100 frames in 60-70 seconds on the other hand if focus and seeing are not spot on i might get none. However i am beginning to realise that quality is much better than quantity. after all you are only going to discard the poor frames anyway. I think meade suggest 50% quality as a setting for the lpi so that you at least quickly get results using the software provided . if your saving images and using rgistax your trying a bit harder to achieve good results.
