Hi everyone,

This is the first processed image I've done with the Skywatcher Star Adventurer.
Have had it for a number of months, but only just managed to get some free time and clear skies.

Details:
Skywatcher Star Adventurer
Samyang 135mm F2.0 ED UMC
Canon 700D (stock)

183 x 30 second exposures
40 Dark frames

Processed with Pixinsight

There are issues with walking noise and the lack of flats really shows, but I thought it was OK for a first wide field shot of Orion. Would appreciate any constructive criticism :-)

Travis, congratulations on your first process using the Star Adventurer. Unfortunately, IIS's 200kb maximum image size does not do justice to wide field shots but I can appreciate that you have some nice data there and your Hi Res image of this shot probably looks fantastic. You've also managed to show a fair bit of Ha with your stock camera - thanks to the 183 subs you took, well done. There does appear to be some strange internal reflections going on within the lens which Flats would certainly help to correct. Maybe put the lens back on using the same f-stop and focus you used for your lights and take a few Flats to add to your data. I'd like to see the difference it makes. :)

it's a fabulous field of view and composition - presumably flat would fix up some unevenous espe right hand end. I would pull the mid-tones down a little.

I hear about "walking noise"but dont know what it looks like?

Looks good. Don’t often see such a great wide field shot with detail.

Thanks everyone. I’ll take some flats and reprocess. Hopefully that improves it :-)
