This is a sister book to one we’re translating at the moment - Solar Astronomy.

Christophe posts sporadically on the CN website, and his website is full of interesting and useful information. His latest post on the spectra of Uranus and the north pole is worth looking at.

For beginners it is well worth a look on his website, but the printed version is quite expensive (maybe better for Astro clubs to own a copy for reference purposes).

I received my copy this week (5 weeks from France to Darwin - not bad considering the COVID disruptions to air freight)

Based on the quick skim I have had so far, I think this may be the best book in my Astro book collection.Everything about the book is excellent. Quality of the photos and diagrams is very good, they are sized well and easy to understand.

The translators have also done a good job in the translation to English from the French.

Once I’ve had a chance to peruse more thoroughly, I will post a better review.

Finally got the book - took a while to get to Sydney as it was sitting in France airport waiting for a flight.

All I can say it's fantastic! Beautifully made and full of information. But!

But seriously, this book must be in electronic format. Partially because it's arguably the most expensive book I ever purchased so far and that includes at least two dozens of large and thick painting and photo albums (Sebastio Salgado's Genesis, 520 pages, hardcover and at least twice larger on square size cost me less at the time of publishing). And partially because of all these good features you can use when it's in electronic format - search, markups, availability from any device etc.

Just picked mine up from the Post Office at first I thought the packaging was a bit mediocre. But when I got it home and opened it up it was very well (and uniquely) packaged.

Wasn't serious about green-eyed jealousy, but very pleased it arrived today. Really excellent looking at swift perusal, but now look forward to getting time to sit and read parts thoroughly.
