A perfect day in Brisbane this morning so I set up early, before the atmosphere started to boil. I managed to get some close ups that were close to the limit of my seeing.

White light captured with my 180 Mak ,ND3.8 solar film IR cut and solar continuum filter. ASI120mm camera

H-alpha captured with my Lunt DS 50/60 2x Barlow and ASI290 mm camera

Great captures Martin.I think if you keep at it you will be surprised at just how much WL granulation you will be able to pick up with your setup.As an example down here when I was imagining prolifically there were only a handful of occasions where I could use 150mm for either WL or Ha imaging.You may find that stopping down the WL to smaller apertures will give better results when the seeing is not up to scratch.

Thanks' Derek. I'm experimenting with aperture masks and focal reducers, to compensate for different seeing conditions The 180 Mak has a reasonable CA I've had good results at 135mm and will be making a set of masks to suit .

Heartening to see that someone is keeping an eye on Sol, nice looking set up and fine images, hopefully the clouds will part again so more of us can enjoy the view.
Actually the clouds did part yesterday but was committed to other things unfortunately and it is cloudy again today, of course.
