I'm doing something many consider crazy - but here it is, I'm selling my 80mm refractor because I love use my big slow 8" RC more.

Comes with:
+ The scope
+ 2 extension tubes
+ Finder scope bracket
+ 3d printed bahtinov mask
+ Field Flattener - this is VERY poorly documented by ES, but my stars with 55mm backfocus were far better than 45mm, so I assume that is the correct spacing. T2 threads on camera side.

Asking $750, paypal or bank transfer if shipping, or cash is an option too if in Sydney.

I'm based on Sydney so as of right now happy to meet up for a quick car park exchange somewhere which isn't the Northern Beaches. Otherwise we can figure out postage - will be shipped using the case it comes in put inside whatever the correct size auspost box is with cushioning packing (unless you want something else).

Happy to answer any questions/provide photos of anything in particular.

Hi,

Is this the version with the FCD100 glass?
I've seen it sold in two versions with very different price tags.

Honestly I couldn't tell you definitely - I bought it off someone who only advertised it as "ES ED80", didn't even know about the two versions until much later. I've attached a close up of the info stamp and a pic from an APS-C sensor using the scope, I'm afraid I'll have to let the IIS community be the judge.

It would say FCD100 this is the older version

It's identical to mine which has the FCD1 glass. The FCD100 has a different information sticker which says "ED80 - FCD100" at the top.

Great scope IMO.

Yes, after posting the question I did some of my own research and came to the same conclusion.

I still can't work out how much difference the better quality FCD100 glass makes.

Think FPL51 and FPL 53 same sort of comparison
