After packing the gear away from a night of shooting M42 on the EQ mount, I noticed both the LMC and SMC looking rather bright in the south. The nearby Windmill in the paddock we had set up in, made an interesting foreground subject to frame the two galaxies using a 50mm lens on a fixed tripod. These were single 10 second shots at 6400 iso using a Canon 550d. The windmill was light painted with a torch.
