Rumor is that there will be a FireFly reboot coming to Disney+ streaming service...

If true it could be interesting...

That would be very welcome, I assume all the original cast would be available, although some might not look as lean as their younger selves (like Nathan Fillion). Might be best to just have a complete new cast. Then there is the challenge presented by cast members killed off in Serenity. Like Alan Tudyk ( Wash),.

Update: a bit of Net research suggests there would be a complete new cast, story to start from the beginning, and some of the storyline woukd be changed to make it more Disney family friendly fare: ie, no professional companion in the crew, and likely no flesh eating bad guys. Oh and no one wants Josh Whedon involved. Sort of sounds like Lost in Space type show.

Only Disney knows how to take a good show and ruin it without trying too hard.

Loved the show. It was a real surprised when they cancelled it. I wish all those series were still available on bluray as well.

Did some digging too and reading about things like new cast and family friendly have my spidey sense tingling so time will tell. That said, if it is Mandalorian quality I think I might enjoy it, even if it is a modified re-telling

Marc, the complete series is available here on Blue Ray from JB Hifi, for $16.

Yeah, I got them. I meant it's hard to get any new series now released on bluray with streaming and Disney+. The expanse season 4 was due on September. The mandalorian is now in season 2. Still no hard copy.

The original Firefly cast wasn't diverse enough, and Malcolm Reynolds was and is plainly a symbol of toxic masculinity and white privilege.

Expect another dud reboot.

Renato
