45 minutes of M42 - Orion before the clouds came in on Friday.
The core is blown out, something I have to work on, but it is already way better then my first try.

15x 180s @ ISO1600, including darks and flats
Mount: SW HEQ5 Pro
Scope: SW ED80 600/80 f/7.5
Imaging camera: Canon EOS-M6 M2
Guide camera: ZWO ASI120MM mini on ZWO OAG
Capturing software: APT
Processing software: Photoshop

Very nice effort. Core is a little blown out but who hasn't done that when shooting Orion. You can correct that by shooting 10-30 subs and integrating them into the main image.

This reminds me of my first effort.

Another go at Orion, this time from a dark site.
What a difference that makes. The single subs from my camera where already better then the stacked processed version from the suburbs. :-)
I had some issues in the beginning: plate solving didn't want to play along, too much noise on my initial target (M78), laptop went into sleep mode and shutdown APT.
I now know that at 3.50am in the summer it is too late for imaging. I had sequenced shorter subs for the core but it was too light already.

Anyway still happy with this.

Hi, a much better result. It's amazing the difference some dark sky makes. I am not sure about DSLR's but it looks like you need a flattener as the stars are elongated in the edges. Also does your camera have an inbuilt UV/IR filter as this helps to reduce the size of stars.

Thanks Zuts, yes I need a flattener.
I am planning to buy a mono camera, still not sure which one.
