Here is a picture, obviously in daylight, with a bad convert to jpeg from RAW, not sure what I did there but the colours are interesting, but I digress, this would be if it were night time a picture of the SCP, OK, the piggy 350 is currently under the SCT, so you got a bit of the bottom of the shutter slit, but thats hopeless for identifying anything, let alone Sig Oct...

so what are you saying? because you are in the tropics you have trees inthe way? :shrug:

Well short of building on a bowling green or a mountain top , yes the horizon is a bit of an issue, unfortunately although somr of these trees are on my property, to see the south celestial pole I would have to prune trees on the neighbour place as well. 17 deg puts the pole pretty low...
